Dr Jen Walsh is the Director of the Centre for Sleep Science at The University of Western Australia and leads the physiology research group at the West Australian Sleep Disorders Research Institute at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth.
Jen has a diverse background in exercise, environmental, vascular endothelial and sleep physiology. Since 2004, Jen has focused her career on investigating the causes of, and treatments for, sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea and insomnia. Jen’s research is regularly published in top-ranking international journals, and she speaks at many national and international scientific meetings. Jen is often invited to consult on sleep health to a range of organisations including schools, private companies, government organisations and community groups.
Jen has played a pivotal role in the design and development of all post-graduate courses in sleep science and dental sleep medicine at the University of Western Australia and has contributed to the training of almost 200 sleep scientists, physicians, pharmacists and dentists since the inception of these courses.
Jen is a Board member of the Australasian Sleep Association and is also a proud and active member of the Australian Sleep Health Foundation.
